The power of search - the new way to happiness?
This was Google's Superbowl ad. Apparently it wasn't made exclusively for the Superbowl slot, reports a post on wired.com and had already been on YouTube for three months. As the post goes on to report, it must have been one of the cheapest-ever Superbowl ads.
It's a love story in 52 seconds- and of course Google makes it all happen. It pushes all the right buttons. It tells a story and it has a happy ending. Love is a universal theme that we can all relate to. It's benefit-led. You don't have to be told how fast Google is nor how effective it is in bringing you results.
I wonder how long it will be before the parody videos appear on YouTube? I can see the wags and cynics planning it now. I'm sure someone is already thinking of search phrases such as "domestic violence support", "marriage guidance counsellor" "divorce lawyers" and so on. Actually, I just checked on YouTube. I searched for "Parisian Love Parody" and found one. Not exactly workplace safe so I won't link to it. Quite creative though.
